ARTIST’S SHOW AGREEMENT Artist’s Name: ____________________________________Address________________________
Email: _________________________________ Phone: _______________________________ As an artist who wishes to participate in the Main Street Community Center Show at 5494 State Route 23 in Windham, NY. I
agree to the following conditions:
Group Show: I will bring my artwork to the Main Street Community Center on January 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM promptly.
The artwork must be framed, wired and ready to hang. Our system prevents hanging anything without a wire. The labels must be on the back of the painting. Use black ink: print the title, medium and price, followed by the artist’s name and phone number.
As an artist, it is up to you to determine the meaning of the statement “H’ART and Soul” and explain the relationship it has to your art. With each submission, please include a short statement explaining why you think your selection illustrates the theme. This statement should be able to fit on a 3X5 index card including the title, medium, price, and artist's name. ,
Do not send it as a reply to the newsletter. WAA will type the explanations on the tags used for the show so they are consistent.
Each artist can submit 2 works of art. Depending on the number of participants and the size of the works this number may be increased or decreased. The maximum size of a piece should be no larger than 24” x 32” to enable enough people to participate. Any works more than 16” x 20” must not use glass.
Commissions: MSCC will take a 20% commission from sales of artwork. They will be responsible to sell the artwork during the show.
Sales: Buyers will be allowed to take the artwork as soon as they purchase it and the artist will be able to replace the piece with another one.
Entry Fee and Deadline There is a $10 entry fee due with the application by September 1, 2022. Make a check out to Windham Arts Alliance and mail to PO Box 55, Windham, NY 12496. Also please notify us of your

with this participation agreement, entry fee, and mailed to the address above.
Please pick up your work on March 3, 2023 at 10:00 MSCC working hours. If you need to make special arrangements to pick up work contact the MSCC.

2-dimensional work on paper must be properly framed, glazed, wired, and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers, clip frames or similar hardware. Use d-ring hangers (available at art supply houses and hardware stores) or screw eyes for securing wire. Use framer’s points or wire brads to attach backing, etc., to frame. Do not use tape.
Canvas may be exhibited either framed or gallery wrapped. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching the canvas, so it wraps around the sides of the painting and is secured to the back. The result is no unsightly hardware (such as nails or staples) or raw canvas or wood on the sides of the painting, producing a frame-less gallery ready look. Screw eyes or d-ring hangers must be attached to the two opposing vertical stretchers—not to the top horizontal stretcher. Picture wire must be secured to the hangers and be relatively taut.
There are three options for the sides of your frame-less painting. Some artists leave the pristine white of the gessoed canvas, being careful not to get any paint on the sides (this can be facilitated by taping the sides), while others paint the sides a solid color. Still others continue the painting on the sides producing a slight three-dimensional effect to the artwork.
TRADITIONAL FRAMING METHOD FOR STRETCHED CANVAS AND PANELS
A traditional frame serves two functions. First and foremost a properly selected frame will enhance the presentation of the artwork. A frame allows the artist to paint on the support of their choice from stretched canvas to panels, while providing protection to the artwork.
